Citrus orchards under formation evaluated by UAV-Based RGB Imagery

Few studies have investigated the biometric attributes of citrus orchards under formation that use RGB sensors on board unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and challenges are great. This study aimed to develop validate a method using UAV images by automated routines evaluate crop ‘Tahiti’ acid lime formation. We used multirotor UAV, programmed capture at three different map scales, with frontal side overlap 80 %. Geoprocessing was carried out both without ground control points each scale. An routine developed in an open-source environment, consisting processing phases: i) Estimation plant attributes, ii) Statistical analysis, iii) Report Map (SRM). The allowed delimit estimate crown projection area accuracy more than 95 % as well identify quantify plants over 97 during stage does not increase estimating evaluation. On other hand, scale is strongly correlated quality estimates, especially height. results define for acquisition analysis aerophotogrammetric data which can be measure easily adapted perennial crops.
